Xiaodong has no option but to be connected with her, and he accompanies her on different outings like as shopping, visiting a beach, and so on.
They ultimately fall in love and plan to marry, but Lei vanishes on the day of her wedding as soon as the full moon rises. The pair had anticipated this result and vowed to reconvene in the fall, whetting the appetite for a possible second season.
